Special Speaker Series: Children of the Promised Land
Learn about Nicodemus, Kansas, the only remaining western town founded by African Americans during the Reconstruction era after the Civil War and now a National Historic Site. This inspiring presentation highlights the experiences of the town's early families, including children who were among the first generations born free.
Presented by historian Angela Bates through Humanities Kansas's Speakers Bureau as part of the 21st Century Civic series.
