EL DORADO STATE PARK

El Dorado State Park (home to El Dorado Lake) is the largest state park in Kansas! The park sits on the edge of the beautiful Flint Hills just 3 miles east of El Dorado. 

 

With more than 8,000 acres of water and 98 miles of shoreline, El Dorado is the premier destination for boating, fishing, water skiing and swimming!  

The 4,000-acre wildlife area long the shores of the upper end of the lake is popular for hunting. The park features a large ADA archery range as well as an impressive amphitheater and stage specially designed for special events!

    • Scenic trail accessed from the campground that follows the Walnut River

    • Moderate hiking & mountain biking trail. ​

  • Boulder Bluff Horse Trail 

    • Scenic stroll through the Fling Hills along the shoreline of El Dorado Lake. Equestrians welcome. ​

    • Length: 15.55 Miles 

  • Double Black Diamond Trail 

    • Challenging bike trail through the timber of the Walnut River. ​

    • Length: 2 miles
