Recreation

Go swimming, fishing, boating, hunting and more at the largest state park in Kansas! El Dorado Lake has over 98 miles of shoreline and is the perfect way to spend the day outdoors.

El Dorado is also home to beautiful biking and walking trails. There are many options for gravel cycling, and the city's Bike/Pedestrian Path is a scenic 4 mile route with views of the Walnut River and surrounding natural landscape. 

​

Looking for some good, outdoor fun? Check out El Dorado's 18-hole disc golf course and Prairie Trails Golf Course.

Family Fun

There's plenty to do in El Dorado with the kiddos!

Enjoy the youth programming and children's book selection at Bradford Memorial Library. Visit The Lanes at El Bowl to go bowling with the family and play a game of mini golf. For summertime fun, be sure to take a dip in the El Dorado Municipal Pool, or check out El Dorado's beautiful parks and splash pads.

​

Another great outdoor spot for family fun is Walters Pumpkin Patch, just north of El Dorado on Highway 77. Don't forget to visit the Bill Higgins Family Youth Fishing Pond at El Dorado State Park to enjoy some quality family fishing time.

Out On the Town

Visit the heart of El Dorado! El Dorado's downtown district is home to many shops, boutiques, salons, restaurants and more. There is something for everybody.

​

El Dorado is home to Walnut River Brewing Company, and visitors can sample seasonal and flagship beers in their taproom. Be sure to also visit Speedtrap Distillery and Llewellyn Distillery for more El Dorado favorites.

​

As far as entertainment, El Dorado has you covered. Visit Club Vaudeville in the historic El Dorado Theater to watch live music, and check out The Blue Goose Tavern for a game of pool. Watch a movie at Central Cinema 6 or catch a Walnuts Baseball game at McDonald Stadium.

Art and History

Dive into the culture of El Dorado! From art galleries to glimpses of early life in El Dorado, there is so much to discover in this city of gold.

El Dorado is home to Coutts Museum of Art​, which showcases local and regional talent. Visitors can take an art walk around downtown to see the city's murals and 16 downtown sculptures. Don't forget to snap a picture at Mural Plaza!​​

​

El Dorado has three historical museums, each one with a unique focus and specialty. The Kansas Oil Museum includes an outdoor 1920s boom town. El Dorado's other great museums include the El Dorado Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum and the World War II History Center.
